DD(9) spent nigh all afternoon writing a lovely letter to her grandparents who live about 10 mins away but they are still sheilding and then she hasnt seen them since March.
She made a lovely origami envolope with stickers on it. I wrote their address on information technology and had the first grade stamps literally right next to me.
Stupid me, wrote the address and so rushed to the postbox beyond the road and she posted information technology.
I got in and saw the stamps and idea 'nooooo"
What happens with an unstamped envelope?

The heir-apparent will gets a menu through their door saying something has been posted to them but they take to pay £X in order to receive as poster did not pay any postage
Billythecat Mon fifteen-Jun-20 16:30:42
Equally far as I know, it would be delivered anyway. I was told that in my last job, although i suppose it could accept been agreed in advance. But I think it should all the same get there! In my experience that is what happened

The recipient volition become a card through the door and have to collect from Purple Mail depot and pay the postage, or they tin reject information technology.

Or if they are feeling nice it volition just become posted as normal :D
ComeOnEileen11 Monday xv-Jun-20 16:31:11
Recipient volition have to pay when they collect it
HerBigChance Monday 15-Jun-twenty 16:31:18
I think you take to collect the letter from the post office and pay a small charge.
PiggyPokkyFool Mon 15-Jun-xx 16:31:20
The grandparents will probably have to pay the postal service part the toll of a first form postage plus a treatment fee - shouldn't be more than £2 in total.
HerBigChance Monday 15-Jun-xx 16:31:37
Sorry - the recipient has to collect and pay.
Soforgetfull Mon xv-Jun-20 xvi:32:09
I will have to call them and tell them i'll post the £ii through the letterbox if mail service part ask them for information technology
Ellmau Monday 15-Jun-20 sixteen:32:17
Or you can pay online and information technology will exist delivered. Looks like they round it upwardly to £2 now: world wide web.royalmail.com/personal/receiving-mail/pay-a-fee/unpaid-postage
Soforgetfull Mon 15-Jun-20 16:33:08
@Ellmau so i tin can login in now and pay?
Windyatthebeach Monday xv-Jun-20 16:33:14
Can y'all wait for the collections and run and stamp it??
Ellmau Monday 15-Jun-twenty 16:33:42
If y'all want to pay it yourself, ask your parents to let you know the details o the card when information technology arrives: www.royalmail.com/personal/receiving-mail/pay-a-fee/unpaid-postage
Ellmau Mon 15-Jun-twenty sixteen:35:19
I recall you may need to wait until they've processed it so your payment is applied to the correct envelope.
NoMoreFlowers Mon 15-Jun-xx 16:36:27
You tin can't log in and pay. When the recipient gets a menu through the door to say that there's a letter on which the postage hasn't been paid, they log in and pay
Soforgetfull Mon fifteen-Jun-twenty 16:36:48
I'k kind of hoping that they might come across it's made.by a child (the envolope is clearly child-made) and it says "nanny (insert proper noun) and grandad (insert proper name)" on the envolope and they alive literslly a 10 minute walk away and then i'chiliad hoping the postman might just give the states a free pass.(wishful thinking probably)
I wouldve posted it myself by DD has never posted a letter before then was excited to mail it

Become to the post box and wait for them to empty it, stick the stamp on then.
Soforgetfull Mon 15-Jun-xx 16:40:03
I take no idea when they empty it and I havent got the fourth dimension to stand there all night and all morning haha
tilligan Mon 15-Jun-xx 16:41:nineteen
I had like, letter delivered here with very old postage....from elderly relative (with elderly relatives writing on the envelope).
Was only delivered past postie in the normal mode....in that location was " excess postage due" stamped on envelope, only naught happened, kind postie only popped information technology though the letterbox!
STAYTHEFUCKHOME Monday fifteen-Jun-20 16:44:24
Soforgetfull
I have no thought when they empty it and I havent got the time to stand up there all dark and all morning haha
..... it says on the postbox!
PiggyPokkyFool Mon 15-Jun-20 16:52:30
It is on the front end of the postbox - drove time. They may or may not allow you remember it.
2andahalfpints Mon 15-Jun-20 17:06:51
Our posties empty the post box as they evangelize so if you can catch them at your door, they might have information technology in the van
PiggyPokkyFool Wed 17-Jun-20 21:02:07
Did the GPs become it @Soforgetfull?
